You will need an EPF account and an activated UAN number to check your EPF claim status online through the EPFO portal.

Steps to check EPF claim status online through EPFO

To check your EPF claim status online,

Step 1: Go to the official website of EPFO

First, go to the official website of EPFO at www.epfindia.gov.in
In the menu section, go to ‘Services’, then click on ‘FOR EMPLOYEES’.
Now click on the ‘Member Passbook’ option.

Step 2: Login into your account

The EPF Passbook Portal will open.
On the page, enter your UAN number and password.
Now enter the captcha code and click the ‘Sign In’ button.
You will be logged into the account.

Step 3: Select Member ID

Once you are logged in, you will be asked to select your Member ID.
Click on the drop-down and select the member ID whose balance you want to check.
You will get two options, ‘View Passbook’ and ‘View Claim Status.’
Click on the ‘View Claim Status’ option.

Step 4: Check EPF claim status

The list of all your PF claims at EPFO will be displayed.
You will see the details of your claim such as claim ID, receipt date, claim form type, claim amount, and claim status.

You can take a printout of the page if you want.

Various status of your claim and its meaning

The claim status can be one of the following:

Status	Meaning
Under Process	Your claim is being processed by the EPFO and you will receive an SMS update soon.
Settled	Your claim has been approved and settled by the EPFO and you will receive the amount in your bank account within a few days.
Rejected	Your claim has been rejected by the EPFO due to some reason and you will receive an SMS with the reason for rejection.
Returned	Your claim has been returned by the EPFO due to some discrepancy or incomplete information and you will have to resubmit your claim with correct details.
