Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has made it easier to change or update the address on your policy through their official website at licindia.in. You can complete the process by either logging in to their customer service portal or without logging in (via offline Aadhaar).

Details required to change address in LIC Policy online

You will need an Address proof document to change the address in your LIC policy online.

You also need to have an account on the LIC Customer Portal to change it through the portal. In case you don’t have one, click here to know the steps to register.

In case you want to update your address in the LIC policy without logging in, you can do that using offline Aadhaar. For that, you need to download the XML ZIP file of Aadhaar from the official UIDAI website first.

Steps to change address in LIC Policy online via Customer Portal

To change address in LIC Policy online,

Step 1: Go to the official website

  1. First, go to the official website of LIC India at licindia.in.
  2. Next, go to the ‘Login’ option on the main menu.
  3. Next, click on the ‘Customer Portal’ option from the dropdown list.
  4. Next, click on the ‘Ok’ button.
  5. A new page will open up.

Step 2: Log In into the portal

  1. Next, enter your user ID/Email/Mobile number in the specified field.
  2. Next, enter your password.
  3. Next, click on the “Login” button.

You will be logged in.

Step 3: Open the ‘Address Change’ request page

  1. Next, click on the ‘Service Request(s)’ option.
  2. Next, select the ‘Address Change’ option from the ‘Select Service Request’ dropdown list.
  3. All the details regarding Address Change will be shown on the screen.
  4. Next, tick the ‘I agree’ box.
  5. Next, click on the ‘Proceed’ button.
  6. A new page will open.

Step 4: Select the policy

  1. Next, select the ‘Policy Number’ for which the address is to be changed.
  2. Next, click on the ‘Proceed’ button.
  3. An OTP will be sent to your selected mobile number.
  4. Next, enter the ‘OTP’ in the specified field.
  5. Next, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  6. A new page will open.

Step 5: Enter the new address

  1. All the details will be shown on the screen.
  2. Next, enter the ‘Pincode’ for the new address in the specified field and click on the ‘Validate Pincode’ button.
  3. Next, enter the details for the new address in the specified fields.

Step 6: Upload address proof and Submit

  1. Next, select the ‘Address Proof’ from the given options.
  2. Next, click on the ‘browse’ button under ‘Upload Document’ and then select the address proof file for uploading.
  3. Next, click on the ‘Upload’ button.
  4. Next, tick all three checkboxes and then click on the ‘Submit’ button.

The request to change address in your LIC Policy will be submitted successfully.

To update the address in your LIC policy via Aadhaar without logging in,

Step 1: Go to the official website

  2. Next, go to the ‘Login’ option on the main menu.
  3. Next, click on the ‘Customer Portal’ option from the dropdown list.
  4. Next, click on the ‘Ok’ button.
  5. A new page will open up.

Step 2: Open the ‘Address Change’ page

  1. Next, click on the ‘Address Change’ option on the main menu.
  2. Next, tick all the declaration boxes.
  3. Next, click on the ‘Proceed’ button.
  4. The ‘Validation’ page will open.

Step 3: Enter policy details

  1. Next, enter the ‘Policy Number’ for which you want to change the address in the specified field.
  2. Next, enter your ‘Mobile Number’ and ‘Email ID’ in the specified fields.
  3. Next, enter the ‘Captcha’ in the specified field.
  4. Next, click on the ‘Check and Generate OTP’ button.
  5. Next, enter the OTP received in the specified field.
  6. Next, click on the ‘Submit’ button.

Step 4: Complete Aadhaar verification

  1. Next, click on the ‘Click Here’ button under the ‘Offline eKYC (Aadhaar Based)’ option.
  2. Next, click on the ‘Upload’ button to upload Aadhaar Zip File.
  3. Next, enter the ‘Mobile Number registered with Aadhaar’ in the specified field. 
  4. Next, enter the ‘Passcode’ for the offline Aadhaar Zip file in the specified field. 
  5. Next, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  6. A new page will open.
  7. All the details will be shown on the screen.
  8. Next, click on the ‘Submit’ button.

Step 5: Complete eKYC Verification

  1. Next, click on the ‘Proceed for eSign’ button.
  2. A new page will open. Next, click on the ‘Proceed’ button.
  3. Next, select option you want from the two options.
  4. Next, enter the details according to the option selected in the specified field. 
  5. Next, click on the ‘Get OTP’ button. The OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.

Step 6: Update address

  1. Next, enter the Aadhaar OTP in the specified field.
  2. Next, tick the declaration box.
  3. Next, click on the ‘Submit’ button.
  4. The new address will be updated successfully.
  5. Next, click on the ‘Download PDF’ button and then click on the ‘OK’ button.
  6. The acknowledgment file will be downloaded successfully.
