Steps to download Form 26AS from the Income Tax portal

Step 1: Official website of the Income Tax Department

  1. First, go to the official website of income tax e-filing at incometax.gov.in.
  2. Next, click on the ‘Login’ button.
  3. Next, enter your PAN/AADHAAR/USER ID and click on the ‘Continue’ button.
  4. Next, tick the checkbox and enter your password in the specified field.
  5. Next, click on the ‘Continue’ button.
  6. You will be logged in successfully.

You need to be registered on the Income Tax e-Filing portal to download your Form 26 AS. In case you are not registered, create an account using the ‘Register’ option.

Step 2: Open the ‘View Form 26AS’ page

  1. First, click on the ‘e-File’ option from the top menu.
  2. Next, click on the ‘Income Tax Returns’ option.
  3. Next, select the ‘View Form 26AS’ option.
  4. A popup will appear. Click on the ‘Confirm’ button.
  5. A new page will open.

Step 3: Open Form 26AS

  1. Next, tick the I agree box.
  2. Next, click on the ‘Proceed’ button.
  3. Next, click on the ‘View Tax Credit (Form 26AS/Annual Tax Statement)’ option.
  4. Next, select the ‘Assessment Year’ and ‘View As’ as per your requirement from the given options.
  5. Next, click on the ‘View/Download’ button.

Step 4: Download Form 26AS/Annual Tax Statement

  1. Your form details will be displayed on the screen. Scroll down to view it.
  2. You can click on the ‘Export as PDF’ button to download form 26AS.

You can then take a printout of the page for future use.
